The Arts for All Scholarship Program was established in 2007 to subsidize the cost of tickets for economically disadvantaged students. A school is eligible to participate in the program if 35% or more of the student body participates in the federal free and reduced lunch program. Without the necessary help needed to acquire tickets, many students would never have exposure to the performing arts in their education.
On average, 18 schools in our region participate in the Arts for All Scholarship Program. Schools from Rock, Walworth and Jefferson Counties regularly participate. Schools that meet the eligibility requirements may submit an application to have the cost of their field trip subsidized. The amount of the scholarship request may not exceed the percentage of students that receive Free and Reduced Lunch. Applications are accepted April 1st through August 15th, and applicants are notified about the status of their award in September.
Thanks to generous donations from our sponsors, over 10,000 students in grades K-12 have been able to attend a Center Stage matinee performance at a reduced cost through the Arts for All Scholarship Program. These performances make learning come alive for students by connecting the arts to school subjects like literature, history and science.
Schools are eligible to apply for a scholarship if at least 35% of the student population qualifies for free or reduced lunch. With the Arts for All scholarship program, teachers may apply for a reduction in ticket cost based on their school’s percentage of students who qualify for free or reduced lunch. For example, if 50% of the students at your school qualify for free and reduced lunch, then your school may apply for up to a 50% discount on the price of your tickets.
Applications will be reviewed by a panel of educators and staff members. Scholarships will be distributed until all the funds are depleted. The deadline for applications is August 15th. Applications must be submitted by 4:30 p.m. on that date. Applications for both fall and spring semesters will be accepted at that time. Applications received after the deadline will be considered after the on-time applications, pending available funds.
We will begin taking applications on April 1st. The deadline to apply is August 15th. Teachers will receive a notification email when their application(s) are received in our office.
In order for teachers to apply for a scholarship, a minimum of 10 students must be attending the performance (excluding teachers and other chaperones).
Teachers must have made preliminary reservations, by completing the registration, prior to submitting this application.
Please submit one Arts for All application per performance. Each grade level per school may apply for up to two (2) performances. If multiple grade levels are coming to the same performance, please use one application for that group. Please discuss the application(s) with your colleagues prior to submission. Note that if you are applying as part of a multi-grade group, that application counts in the total number received for each of those grade levels.
Teachers will receive notification as to whether or not they will receive a scholarship by September 15th; applicants submitting more than one application will receive separate notification for each completed application. Revised invoices reflecting the new amount due will be issued once funding has been determined.
Scholarships may be awarded at a level less than the original request. The review committee reserves the right to weigh additional information in their decision-making process.
